The Monroe Fire Department is currently not accepting applications.

The Monroe Fire Department normally conducts one hiring process a year.

Anyone completing an interest card will be notified once the application period opens.

 

Qualifications for employment as a Firefighters are as follows:

Must be 18 years of age.

High school diploma or GED required.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must be of good moral character.

Prefer certification, knowledge and/or work experience in firefighting, rescue, emergency medical and hazardous materials.

Requires the ability to learn fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical and hazardous materials response techniques.

Must meet and obtain all fire department training and certification requirements for the position.

Work schedule consists of a 24-hour rotating shift including holidays, weekends, and nights.

A 30-mile living residency from the Monroe Fire Station #1 is required if hired.

The ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
